Open every Day Francis McMahon Artist Biography During the last twenty years Francis has exhibited in many art shows, often taking out prizes for best watercolour, best in show, and best local artist. His paintings hang in homes and cooperate boardrooms, schools and universities throughout England Europe, Australia, America, Taiwan and Singapore. He has been called on to open exhibitions, judge art shows and perform demonstrations and workshops for art societies and interested groups. Francis’ subject matter has varied from the red centre of Australia, embarking on painting trips, including Uluru, the Flinders Ranges and many other iconic beauty spots in the interior, to the incredible iconic rugged beauty of the Great Ocean Road and The Twelve Apostles and the dynamic south west coastal beaches. In and around Geelong Francis has painted the Corio Bay and iconic You Yangs and other tourist spots in and around the Geelong waterfront. Over his 40 year career he has captured many boats in the harbours in and around Geelong and coastal district, many river scenes and painted many commissions Francis is a traditionalist and purist and only works in watercolours and only from his own photographs- with such love and passion, that it has become a medium he has perfected and mastered. His works can now be viewed at the Art Reach Studio Gallery Café in Beech Forest Victoria, which he shares with his partner Susan Richards who is also a prolific artist. |
