Lyndi Whalen is a textile and mixed media artist who lives in a beach shack in Skenes
Creek. Inspired by her love of the natural world and the organic shapes and subtle beautiful palette of mother nature Lyndi creates as a daily practice. This piece reminiscent of the offerings made to the deities in many cultures has been made exclusively with leaves flowers and seed pods of Lagunaria Patersonia indigenous to Queensland and Norfolk Island. Seen as a curse by some due to the itchy spike seeds contained in the seed pod this beautiful tree adorns many old gardens including her mother’s home in Mount Clear where she sat and transformed the curse into a blessing. It’s a reminder that itches come and go... its love that sustains life. You can find Lyndi on Instagram as Lyndilufacepaints which is another way she expresses her creative spirit. |
