Title: Forest Flair
A rusty circle of wire no longer used in the garden inspired this whimsical collection of objects found on the forest floor into a window in the air. Hence Fl-air. Feathers and bones, leaves and seeds, shells, and sea rope, all gathered in the Otways. They are captured between two layers of sheer fabric and tethered to a branch for the wind and the sun and shadow to showcase the beauty of discarded ephemera of the natural world. I enjoy challenging myself with the mysteries of botanical printing on natural cloth. At heart I am eclectic and a boundary rider, patching together unlikely things. Repurposing, reinventing, recycling, reimagining, recreating – these are the creative tools I draw on and follow to interesting ends. I hope they offer a taste of joy and a new appreciation of wonder for this beautiful world. Instagram @otwaygleaner |
