Title- Little Green Birdhouse
Materials- reclaimed tin, wire, vintage shoe (tree) stretcher A shoe tree is a device that is placed inside a shoe to preserve its shape, stop it from developing creases, and thereby extend the life of the shoe. It seemed appropriate that this preloved, wooden shoe tree; be returned to the tree and repurposed as a perch for our little feathered friends. The beautiful old tin was sourced from a friends shed. Many layers of paint and exposure to the elements, over the years, has left the tin with an interesting patina. I have hand cut and panel beaten the tin around a homemade template. I love to add curls and swirls, to most of my work, igniting your whimsical imagination. This 'little green birdhouse' is hand made with love and ready for a bird to move straight in.
