“Robber Fly”
Made from wood offcuts, plastic (chocolate box) wire, string, cotton and aluminum. Represented here is the Robber Fly. A large distinctive family (640 species ) of small to large hunting flies. Active predators catching other insects on the wing. They include some of the largest flies, with a wingspan of up to 75mm. The enjoyment of the environment where I live, by Lake Corangamite, provides a never- ending source of inspiration. I hope my artworks arouse a sense of joy for the viewer in the wonder of life around us. Recently I have developed a growing interest in the large and diverse world of insects, much ignored unless they annoy us. |
