Sue Ferrari

Fabric, thread and natural materials

Exploring the Botanic Gardens, I was struck by the layers of history this landscape records,
the mature trees thick with age bear witness to the years of seasonal changes that shape
the gardens, signs of life’s ebb and flow are everywhere. A place where the interconnection
of the natural world and humans is every present; recorded in plantings, nurtured, and
embraced, all contributing to the continuous processes of change that occurs in this
environment.
Cloth and stitch are at the centre of my practice and in this work I am experimenting with
materials and ways of working that explore interactions within the gardens.
