I have worked with tiles, old crockery, glass and found objects to create

mosaics for the past 20 or so years. Joining the Colac Makers Space has given me the
opportunity and the encouragement to diversify with my arts practice.
After the small Art Treasures in 2022 some branches of a palm tree had fallen and were
ready to be disposed of but I couldn’t go home without them!
I have used parts of the branches for this year’s Small Art Treasures along with jute, an old
decoy duck, and some extra padding etc.
I was inspired by a photo I saw on the Colac Otway flora and fauna Facebook page of
Great Crested Grebes on Lake Colac. They looked as though they were ready for a
masquerade party. Maybe my creation IS ready for a party!
